24 Jan 2010Have you ever think to access the internet in space?. Timothy Creamer, one of the occupants astronauts International Space Station (ISS), has worked hard to bring internet access in space. Creamer then try to post messages or Tweet directly from outer space on Friday, January 22, 2010 local time.
“Hello Twitterverse! We’re now able to send a tweet from the ISS. This is the first tweet which sent directly from space,” he wrote in his Twitter.
This is not the first time the astronauts who were on duty in outer space sent tweet to Earth. Before, Twitter update must be sent by email to the mission control in Houston, then the mission control section post it tweet.” Quoted from the Associated Press, Saturday (23/1/2010).
Now Internet access is available at the ISS, the astronaut crews could use a laptop to achieve computer in mission control, and also Internet browsing. Remote Internet access may be available anytime during a solid high-speed communication link is available.
“The astronauts have committed to spend a very long time away from family and relatives. They are in a place isolated from the community during the job” said NASA spokesman Kelly Humphries.
We hope that the availability of remote Internet access can help them always connected with their loved ones, making them more energy and productive while working in the ISS.” said Kelly.
