8 Nov 2009Cars with alternative energy from solar power made in Japan won the World Solar Challenge held in Australia. Japanese mobile is able to reach speed of 100 kilometers per hour.
Quoted by AFP, Thursday (28/10/2009), Car named Challenger Tokai is the winner of this Solar power cara race which is held for two days.
Tokai had reached the finish which is located in Adelaide, earlier than its competitors. The total time taken is 29 hours and 49 minutes. Start taking place in the city of Darwin, so the distance to reach the finish until 3000 miles.
The resulting gap of Tokai Challenger with solar car behind it is two hours.
The team from Tokai University are able to walk an average of 100.54 miles per hour to beat Nuon solar car made in the Netherlands. Nuon itself has won a solar car race for four times in a row.
This s the first victory for Japanese since the Honda Dream II in 1993.
Solar car race was held to promote solar technology which is environmentally friendly. This event is done once in two years since 1987.
